Frequently asked questions

Which Vaultskin wallet is right for me?

Start with how much you carry. Card holders like MOORGATE, CHELSEA and BRIXTON are for cards and a folded note. MANHATTAN and CITY are classic bifolds. NOTTING HILL and MAYFAIR are zip-arounds that also take coins and a key. BROMPTON is a money clip, KENSINGTON is for passports and travel documents. Every wallet and card holder here has RFID-blocking built in; our leather iPhone cases are designed for style and protection rather than RFID blocking.

What is the difference between a card holder and a wallet?

A card holder is built for cards plus the occasional folded note, which is why it stays genuinely slim and works in a front pocket. A wallet gives you compartments for notes, coins and sometimes keys. If you are trying to shed bulk, start with a card holder; if you still carry cash daily, a bifold or zip-around will serve you better.

Are RFID wallets worth it?

It is a one-time, no-maintenance layer of privacy: the lining is simply part of the wallet, nothing to switch on, charge or replace. If you carry contactless cards, it helps protect them from unauthorized scanning while they sit in your pocket, and it costs you nothing in convenience because your cards work as normal the moment you take one out.

What are the downsides of an RFID wallet?

Two honest ones. The shielding only protects what is inside the wallet, so a card left in an outside pocket is not covered. And you cannot tap to pay through the wallet; you take the card out, as you would anyway. What you should not accept is the third downside common elsewhere: bulk. Shielding does not have to mean a thicker wallet.
